Frako Initiative

is a non-governmental organization established in 2003 by a seasoned educationist and developmental practitioner, who observed the marginalization of women, children and girls in all spheres of life. She therefore established frako initiative to resource women, children and girl child to be able to face the challenges of life and to bridge the gap of irregularity facing women, girls and children in the society.

Vision

Reach the unreached, relieve the poor, vulnerable and distressed trough education, care services, rehabilitation, empowerment and to restore the dignity and property of the African women and children.

Our Mission

Our mission is to undertake developmental and innovative programs and interventions to give voice to the marginalized and to ensure that women and girls are resourced to be able to attain their full potential the organization also support underprivileged children in Ghana experience the joy of reading and the love for books.

KEY ACHIEVMENTS

With support for African Women’s Development Fund (AWF) and other philanthropic organisations, Frako Initiative has empowered women in some districts within the Ahafo Region of Ghana.

Through the interventions, Women in Tano South Municipality know their rights to land and are demanding such rights. There are also rural women land rights advocacy groups. Through the various initiatives, rural women and communities are now conversant with the land acquisition process in the locality and at the national level. Frako Initiative is now deeply grounded in the communities and also known as organization to consult in terms of information on land rights and channels for complains on cases of land rights abuses.

With support from NMCP/Global Fund, Frako Initiative has been able to support 1920 pregnant women, vulnerable children in Tano South Municipality to increase their access to Malaria prevention and maternal health services.

Frako Initiative with the support of the World Education and World University Services of Canada has organized role model and mentoring program in Adenta, Accra for girls. Through this programme, most girls are empowered and mentored to demand for their rights and to prevent violence.

Frako Initiative with the support of TB/Chage organizes sensitization in Goaso.
